Stony Brook Cyclocross GP '05

Skylands Cycling
Stony Brook Cyclocross GP
The most beautiful 'cross course anywhere
(USCF 2005-2343)
When: Sunday, December 4, 2005
Where: Stony Brook Farm, Middleville, New Jersey
Presented by: Skylands Cycling and Patrick and Sarah Peterson

If you think the Sussex County Fairgrounds is a great venue, wait 'til you see Stony Brook Farm. Tucked into the western edge of Sussex County, near the village of Middleville, Stony Brook sits at the base of Kittatinny Ridge, just a stone's throw from Swartswood Lake.

You'll race on gravel roads beneath towering sixty foot spruce trees, through rolling pastures and over smooth lawn surrounding picturesque barns on this working farm. The 1.3-mile course has a gentle but challenging wooded climb to the top of a small ridge, followed by a screaming, off-camber descent over open meadow. Mountain bikes without bar ends are permitted; drafting behind cows, prohibited.
