2011 Skylands Road Race/Crit and TT Race Reimbursement Program
Dear fellow Skylands team racers,
In order to promote our Skylands Cycling Club and Skylands Cycling Racing team spirit and to demonstrate our active support to our racing members, we have again funded of up to $3500.00 to disperse to our racing members for the season of 2011. This will require our racing members to become interactive with reporting race attendance and results.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. There will not be any wavers from the rules.
There will be 2 payout periods. The first payout will be after June 30th. The second payout will be after September 30th. All races must be submitted for the 1st half by July 9th, for the 2nd half by Sept 30th. - Form.pdf
Who qualifies?
All registered Skylands Cycling members who have a current USAC racing license and who races in USAC sanctioned race. ALL USAC races qualify between the dates of April 1st and September 30th. (Exceptions noted below).
Requirements:
A Skylands Cycling kit must be worn.
The member MUST start the race. Crashes, mechanicals, being pulled from the course, etc. do not disqualify you from reimbursement.
A total of 3 races must be completed prior to June 30th to qualify for the first payout.
Another 3 races must be completed prior to the second deadline of September 30th.
In addition:
First and second half events: There will be 1 designated team event per payout period that MUST BE COMPLETED to qualify for reimbursement (this one designated race is part of the total 3 required). You will have 6 races to choose from in each payout period. The 6 “designated” events for each half are:
First Half events/ to June 30th: You must complete one of the following: Tour of Battenkill, High Point TT, any 1 event or all three of the Giro del Cielo stage race, Somerset Road Race, Colts Neck or The NJ State ITT.
Second Half events/ to Sept 30th: You must complete one of the following: Flanders TT, Kingwood TT, Master’s Road Race, State Championship Criterium, Master’s Criterium Championship, and State Championship Road Race.
Skylands racers must report race results to either board member: Jon Boub Jon@Skylandscycling.com or Wayne Lumkong Wayne@skylandscycling.com ; preferably within a week of a racing event. We will not be tracking racers down for results, but will verify submittals.
All qualifying races must be within the 4 state region of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York or Connecticut. Included are all National or World Championships. (If you go to Arizona or Florida to RR, It doesn't qualify.)
Other races not included are all training races; that means Augusta, Branchbrook, and other training series type races do not qualify for reimbursement.
There will be a cap of $20.00 reimbursement per race day. If you do 3 races at an event, you qualify for up to $20.00 that day. Total number of race day entry fees will be divided into 1/2 of the total reimbursement pool at the June 30th deadline to determine per rider reimbursement.
Example: Joe Smoe does the 35+ and the Cat 4 race at Colts Neck. He may qualify for a maximum of $20.00 for that day of racing. However, at the end of the June 30th deadline, (hypothetically) there are a total of 100 entry fee submissions for reimbursement. Joe would receive $17.50 for the Colts Neck day of racing, but only if Mr. Smoe has completed his 3 race minimum and has his 1 designated race in. If Joe did 10 USAC races he would receive $175.00 after June 30th.
Any unused funds for the first half of reimbursement will be transferred over to the 2nd half, September 30th payout. The $20.00 cap will still apply regardless.
Success and continuation of a racer reimbursement fund depends totally on every Skylands racing member becoming familiar with these requirements and fully participating with the spirit of our objectives. We wish to develop and promote our Skylands Racing Team. Reporting individual results promptly is demonstration of your commitment to membership in Skylands Cycling. Please be responsible to your team. Help your fellow racing team members before, during and after races. Promoting team spirit and team cohesion is our ultimate goal.
Thank you from the entire Skylands Cycling Board and the Race Reimbursement Committee
