2012 Goals
Public Relations/Advocacy:
• ATS Results in the Herald: Spoke with Bruce Tomlinson again this week. He said the Herald still wants to post the results, and he is having a sports writer design the layout and figure out the timelines for when they would need the results from us. Unfortunately, this is going much slower than we had hoped, but hopefully we will be able to post results for the May and June races.
• Contacted Freeholder Susan Zellman, who organized the Complete Streets event a few weeks ago. She is out until May 1st, but her secretary assured me that she would contact me upon her return. If not, I’ll follow up.
• Followed up with Jay Marowitz of the Morris Freewheelers regarding a meeting he would like to arrange with Hampton town officials to discuss the recent accident on CR 519. Jay is going to wait for Buz to return because Buz has several contacts in the town.
Ride of Silence:
• Completed the press release and sent it to the Herald and the Sparta Independent. Both said they will run it. The Sparta Independent article should be in the 5/3 edition. I’m waiting to hear from Bruce about the exact date for the Herald article.
• Added our ride to the national Ride of Silence web site.
• Notified the Sparta Parks and Recreation Department that we planned to use the parking lot at Station Park for the event. They did not think it was a problem and did not think we needed a permit.
• Working with Andrea Reisen to make the Sparta Police aware. She is going to see if they will give us a free police escort for the ride.
• Will post information about the ride on the NJ.com Sparta and Biking forums.
