Her dad, a bike racer, is self employed and doesn't have adequate insurance, so we are trying to help out. All entry fees will go directly for Lila's care, after deduction of USCF and NJBA surcharges. No prize money, but valuable merchandise for the top three in each event.

Augusta Cyclocross Series The Augusta Cyclocross Series is entering it's fifth year. Held in November at the spacious and scenic Sussex County Fairgrounds in the northwestern corner of New Jersey, this is basically cyclocross for the locals, although racers from New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut compete every week. The course is about 1.5 miles, with a couple of power hills, a screaming descent, artificial barriers and a run up. The surface is mostly grass, with some gravel and short sections of asphalt. Part of the course winds in and out of a few of the Fairgrounds' horse barns, a nice respite when it's raining. Prize money is based on turnout, but there's usually a couple of hundred dollars for the Men's A and Women's top three. The entry fee is $15-$25. This years race dates are November 5, 11, 19 and 26. November 26 is the NJ Jersey State Championship, but the race is open to out-of-staters. More information at www.skylandscycling.com.

When: November 5, 11, 19 and 26, 2006

Note: Nov 26th is also the NJ State Championships
